Cookies Policy
Last reviewed on May 4, 2026
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store. They are how a site recognizes you on a return visit, how it remembers preferences, and how analytics and advertising tools work. This page lists the cookies in use on MonthlyCalendar.net, what they do, and how to opt out.
1. Categories of cookies in use
1.1 Strictly necessary
MonthlyCalendar.net is a static site. It does not need session cookies to display the calendars or the holiday pages. No "strictly necessary" cookies are set by the Site itself.
1.2 Analytics
The Site uses Google Analytics 4. Google sets cookies (typically _ga and one named
_ga_<property-id>) that distinguish unique browsers and store session metadata.
These cookies usually expire after about 13 months. They do not contain personal identifiers; they
contain a random ID that Google uses to group page views into a session.
1.3 Advertising
The Site uses Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners may set advertising cookies
(such as __gads, __gpi, and others operated by ad-tech vendors that Google
works with). These cookies are used to:
- Choose which ad to show you, and how often.
- Measure whether you saw or clicked an ad.
- Limit how many times you see the same ad.
- Detect and prevent invalid or fraudulent ad activity.
For Google's full and current list of advertising cookies, see Google's cookies and similar technologies page.
2. How to opt out
- Personalized advertising from Google. Visit Google Ads Settings and turn off personalized advertising. Ads will still be shown, but they will be non-personalized.
- Personalized advertising across many networks. Use the industry opt-out pages: DAA WebChoices (US) or Your Online Choices (EU/UK).
- Google Analytics. Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on in your browser.
- All cookies in your browser. Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. The links below jump to each browser's instructions: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
3. What happens if you block cookies
The calendars and holiday pages will keep working — they don't need cookies to render. Blocking analytics cookies means we can't see whether you visited and which page you used. Blocking advertising cookies means the ads on the page will be non-personalized rather than personalized.
4. Other tracking technologies
Google AdSense and similar services may also use technologies other than cookies — for example, pixels, local storage, or device-level identifiers — to perform the same kinds of functions described above. The opt-out links above cover those technologies as well.
5. Changes to this policy
When the cookies in use materially change — for example, if a new advertising vendor is added — this page is updated and the "Last reviewed" date at the top is refreshed.
